Consultation What would you discuss in the English Corner?

I'm wondering what kind of threads belong here.
What would you wand to ask Anglos specifically?
So far I assume I would ask here about our tax reports and passport issues, recipes for native foods, etc.
(BTW I just found bug-free Farina here in E"Y! and it's even cheaper that in the US!)

However, as other users mentioned, there are many more Hebrew speaker who can give information on these topics too.
So what do we gain by asking here?

Also, in a way I feel it's tempting to start schmoozing and bringing up topics in my mother tongue, but after all this is a mixed forum...

Great points.

This, and other topics related specifically to English speakers.
The truth is that so far I was a bit disappointed that there aren't more "Anglos" in Prog. (Really, that wouldn't make so much sense because why would they be in a Hebrew-speaking platform in the first place )
Some ideas for topics I had:
You know the book "Don't Ask for a Hot Dog"? Basically pointing out the funny things that happened to you/other people you know because of the language differences. Or things that would never happen in your native country.

Another suggestion - job offers that require bilingual knowledge.

If Israelis want us to proofread easy ads for fun that would be an option.

Things like - have 2 tickets to sell for the Zir Chemed show (in Beit Shemesh) on Tuesday January
17th (show at 19:00) (NOT MY AD - I copied from the ShemeshList)
This is an example of a question that would probably never interest Israelis.

When I first heard about the English Corner I thought Prog intended to go global. But I'm sure there are many other frum English forums out there...

Are there? In this format? Which open with filters etc
If they would post that prog opened an English site on the Shemeshlist I'm sure many people will join, but then it won't be chareidi anymore.

I'm not aware of an equivalent to Prog in English. Imamother is by no means Chareidi and is likely not a good fit for most posters here. There are other forums like Yeshiva World's coffee room, but that too is very diverse and there's a lot of just stam shmoozing going on there even though it's a mixed forum.
Personally, I can't really see myself choosing to ask much of anything on the English forum as opposed to the main forums since many more eyes would see it "out there." For now, it's just fun to post in English.

There is jerusaguide which is a big gmail group for the English speakers who moved here from abroad.

So it seems that the best topic to discuss on Prog is how to avoid it? :)

I guess if there really isn't a platform similar to Prog out in CHU"L then maybe they should go global...
then we can have many discussions with our fellow jews worldwide.
and then they can also get a more accurate picture of life here in E"Y, unlike in YWN's Coffee Room.

I checked it out. Doesn't look too Chareidi to me.
Imamother is very much not chareid and has many hashkafic problems too.
Imamother is by no means Chareidi and is likely not a good fit for most posters here.
I'm very sorry then for mentioning it.
I peaked there a few years ago and didn't remember this.
I take it back.

It is interesting to talk about the changes in mentality between us (the English speakers) and the Israelis
There is something in us that is a little less accepting of the Israelis total commitment to agreements
Things that for us and our close society are considered normal and proper, for Israelis will be considered modern and unacceptable (Of course, this does not mean things that are really not good)
We are mixed English-Hebrew but more mentally belong to the English side...
